shoover, You would forward phones to the voicemail box on the G screen on the telephone system programming. You need to fill in the mailbox number on that screen for the extensions then set call forward busy/no answer to vms. There is also a timer on the right side of the G screen for the extensions to vary thge time before it forwards to the mailbox. As for calls bouncing back ,what do you have on the sets? By that I mean direct line keys or trunk group keys?If you are using trunk group keys make sure you have at least 2 per phone so you can be on 1 call and have a second call come to the phone.

pvj, I'm coming down the home stretch I think.
On the G screen I found the time busy NoAns timer was set to 00s so I changed it to 10s. Now when someone calls in they are able to select the extension and the other person is able to answer before it is bounced back to the main greeting.
What I am still having problems with is the actuall voicemail for each extension.
The phone rings and rings and never picks up. The default Trnsfr VMS Delay, on G screen, is 16. The default Answer appears to be 05. Ideas? Steve.

follow up. I changed the busy to 5s and the no ans to 5s. I changed the timer multiplier to 2. That seems to help. At least it now rolls to Voice mail after 10 seconds but It seems to be going back to the system voice mail instead of the voicemail for the user.

On the "G" screen do you have the prefix as # for all the extensions. It should have extension, mailbox, and prefix (3001,3001,#).
Good Luck!!
If all else fails, use a BFH.

In the Run Diagnostics on the infostar system I changed from auto1 to smdi1. Now the callers are transfered directly to the voice mail without the extension ringing. So, I guess there must be something here I am missing.

Eclipse 2.0 s/w on the ids The vx2 is on a 486 card? (hope I said that right.)
Not sure about the line in. My guess is no. The only way I was able to get to the system at all was through the 232 port on the test panel. I tried the transfer 99 and it didn't work.
I tried all of the following automated attendants: auto1,autos, autom, and auton. I can either ring the extension or I can go directly to voice mail. If I go directly to the extension (autos) the extension rings and when vms picks up I am back to the "main" system greeting. I think that there is something in the automated attendant that I am missing. When hit the vms key I get the same system greeting. I have the # key set in pf column for the extension so was expecting to be placed directly into the vms for that extension.

PVJ, So far between you & JJ, and me pluggin at it, I have been able to get the system configured to a fairly acceptable level. The last piece is this dang rollover to the extensions voice mail.
I'm sure I'll get it with your assistance (you and jj). Steve.
