It's in section 4.3.7 (page 33-34) of this document:
TIA 1096-A

That's a new one for me. What are the applications for this? Anybody here has used it or something similar?

That's a telephone connector for RVs and marinas. Leviton #PH66-25 is one number.

Years ago I did some work at the Montauk Yacht Club and Inn. Half the telephone outlets were indoor in rooms. The other half were outdoors on the slips. Pull in your yacht and hook up to a phone line.Rich or poor, it's good to have money.

The old style Marina jacks were a screw-in bronze unit. They in no way resembled any other type of telephone jack I'd ever seen before.

This type appears to be similar to an electrical twistlock plug.

Thanks, gents. Sam, I had the same idea - only seen a similar configuration on outdoors NEMA outlets.

That's exactly what it is but like all twist-locks each one is different. That's to prevent someone from putting a plug on something like a 20A/220v device into a 15A/440V receptacle.

This one is similar to a 15A/120V non-grounding.

I was unfamiliar with the physical connector itself. Far as I know RJ designations are connector configuration (ie wiring) designations.
