I'm looking for about 3-feet of a multi-hundred pair cable to use as a demonstration for a training class to try and convince people that "Cabling is best left to professionals".
Anyone got about a 3-foot piece laying around they want to sell? Thanks.

I've got some 400 pair cable but it's in little bits in the bottom of a box from being spliced in :-) Try the scrap yard where the addicts take their stolen copper!

What are you training them to do, (other than not to work on telephone cable)?
I would think that training them to do it the right way would be lucrative, although it's a dying art that's doomed to obsolescence.

James -
I use a 3' piece of 600 pair in my training lessons for the IBEW apprentices.
I use it to show them how to identify the binders and safely tape them up etc.
It's very effective.

Well this will have about 1' split open so that I can show all the CG's that there is more to cabling then just going from Point A to Point B and to call professionals to do your cabling. It's a scare tactic basically A lot of issues I run into are home-brew cabling by whoever worked there that week. Planning to do a short presentation of some fundamental wiring do's and dont's for a training class. One of the dont's is don't get in over your head. The 3' piece is just a visual aid as most of these people have never seen anything above 5-pair cat5. Also plan to use a few picture's from out Best and Worst job threads to demonstrate why little things like cable routing on racks is important PM Sent Ed. Thanks for the input guys.

A piece of 400 pair PE89 cable is on the way. That will surely scare anyone away from the big stuff.
