Here is a strange one. We had an FXII in place and one day my technician added a call group and a single extension. After making this change, no one could call out. We have PRI and dialing 9 and number got dead air. We took out all of the programming we did for the call group and everything went back to work. We thought we had a corrupt database so we rebuilt it from scratch. Everything was fine for a while. We even upgraded the system to MP5000. I get a call today and teh customer was adding a couple of extensions. After adding the extensions, he gets calls from users who can't call out. He tries and get's dead air when calling. He takes out the programming and he's OK again. Has anyone seen this?

Haven't seen this. Do you have a system in your lab that you can run the database on?

So it happened on both the FXII (CPUII) and MP5000 (CPUIII)?

That is correct. With new CUP (MP5000) and new services board we have the same problem again. We've done programming on the new system over the past week or so with no problem. It always seems to be when we add a new extension. Since we have rebuilt the database, I don't think it is a database corruption issue.

OK: We found the problem. The dial codes were comehow corrupt. They looked OK but once my technician did a default of the dial codes the problem cleared up.

It's another undocumented feature.

OK Mark please explain what you are referring too as "Dial Codes" If you are talking about Toll Restriction Entries, there are TAB's and SAB's all the way back to DXP and DXP Plus switches concerning this scenario. Do you still have a copy of the database archive that was the original culprit you can e-mail to me?? :read:

I'll ask Jeremy if he still has it and I'll send it to you. Thanks for the tape. I havn't looked at it yet. I'm afraid it might be another PH training video.
