Anybody been able to set up an external modem on the new COB Blade?

I am trying to set up a U.S. Robotics external modem.

I thought it used the old Data Pipe to remotely connect.

You can use the data pipe. You just need to keep hanging up and calling back in if your trouble shooting something betwenn them.

I will get you a copy out as soon as I get it type up.

Thanks BigDog.

Has anyone heard whether Comdial is going to move toward an Interchange Blade? I can already think of some issues they'd have to overcome, but it seems like it would be nice to have everything in one box.

Any chance they will go with an XP platform, or would they jump over to Linux? Hmm...

I hope they do not go to the Blade for the Interchange.

I am a backup freak and not being able to do a nightly backup just makes my skin crawl.

since I have the remote modem resolved, I am now gearing up to tackle a good way to get backups.

I have come up with a few ideas, but its going to take some lab work to see if they work.

Why couldn't they put a NIC on an Interchange Blade? Then backups could be done. Sounds fairly simple in concept, the same as we're currently doing backups on today's Interchange systems.

Your right, my thoughts would be they would have to for the UM, ect... unless they run through the nic on the CPU.
