Hello everyone, I am trying to configure the phones at my place of employment to be able to use headset and handset. The phone system we use is Elektra Elite IPK, the phones we have are the NEC Dterm80. We do not have any manuals for the system as an outside company had configured everything for us years ago. I am just trying to do the simple task of being able to use the headset port to work while my hands are free to type. Can anyone familiar with this system help me out?
Thank you and i look forward from hearing from you

Hi guys -- same question, same issue. Using NEC Dterm80 and need to activate a headset.
Also, any ideas on headset compatibility? The most comfortable one is AT+T -- will it work with the NEC phone? Sorry for the dumb questions.
Thanks for any help!

Rickman - Could you please send me the same? I am working at a small firm and no one seems to have any idea how the phones work. I see a headset button on the phone and would love to plug in so I could gesticulate with both hands when I talk. Thanks, Paul

When You Press the Headset Button, do you see The Intercom Number show in the Display? Just like you had Picked up the Handset?

Hi guys -- same question again, same issue. Using NEC Dterm80 and need to activate a headset.
I have found some manuals, but nothing specifically for the NEC Dterm80. Can't work out the Feature key, doesn't function as any of the manuals suggest. Only things that do anything are: Feature 1: turn mic on/off Feature 3: Version info and MAC address Feature 0: General Purpose Relay

Seems a common problem, I have the same one. How do you activate the headset jack on the DTerm 80. The system is an Electra Elite (both NEC).
Thanks, Dave

Thanks Scott,
Now if only I knew how to program the button (I have one free, but the system was setup by a third party and no one here has the manuals for it. I'll have to wait the the third party to come in.)

To make things easier for Rickman, it might help if those needing a headset button would find the box on the wall that all the telephone wires go into -- it's usually in a closet somewhere, or a bathroom, or a break room -- and tell us what it says on the box. Also, the color and size would help, and any stripes if present -- i.e. "navy box with royal blue diagonal stripes" or "navy blue box, no stripes" or "tan box with vertical blue stripe."
This will determine what model of phone system your Dterm 80 phones are connected to (there are at least three possible, and all program differently).
BTW, if there is no available button, I sometimes use the ANS key, since few people use it for its intended purpose.

I have one NEC dterm80 8-line phone on Elite IPK box system that it is not accepting the programming for headset. Instructions are followed: Press Speaker + 751 + Blank Key you want to program + 05 + Speaker. There are a few spare buttons, and it accepts other codes but not this one. Other phones are using the headset without a problem, and phones and headsets are the same. Please help.

Okay, I just joined this forum because it's the only place where I believe I can get help with the same question, but a slight tweak, that's been asked and answered several times.
I followed the instructions that bbox, who, obviously walks on water, provided. Now, a different issue. When using my headset I can hear the person on the other end just fine, but nobody on the other line can hear me. I hit 751+ a blank key + 05 + speaker. Lo and behold, I now just hit that no longer blank key and hear the dialtone through my headset! But since then I can make calls through the headset but even though I can hear the person on the other line that person can't hear me.
I thought it might be the headset so I tried two more. Same problem. I then hooked all three headsets to my old phone, and all worked fine. I could hear fine and so could the other person. I can't go back to my old phone because in order for the receptionist located upstairs to answer my phone, I have to use this type of phone, which must be the type that makes all that work. The phone is an NEC Dterm80.
It may or may not be relevant but I have noticed that while I'm speaking through my headset, when I turn the volume up and down the display that shows the volume going up and down reads "handset." Please, brilliant people, help me! I had fusion in my neck, but it didn't help my neck pain a whole lot. It just hurts like hell to talk on the phone even for a few minutes without without using a headset! Please, help! Thanks so much for everything y'all have already don for me. It's saved me countless hours of useless googling.

I've programmed the headset button i needed but I've also reprogrammed our main line (Line 1) on two of the ports, (Port1 & 2) unknowingly. Could anyoen perhaps help me reprogram these two button to be able to pick up our main incoming calls. When i Feature 4 on the main line it reads VACANT, when I feature 4 on the Line 2 it reads "C LINE 2" or something I can't read all the letters. I appreciate any help you can provide.

Hi,
I have a similar issue to this. Phone: DTerm80 System: Electra Elite IPK
Instructions followed: Press Speaker + 751 + Blank Key you want to program + 05 + Speaker.
This programs the button for "headset" but I get NO AUDIO AT ALL when I press this button. I tried accessing a line, but this button now functions more like a "mute" button than a headset button.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!

You might not want to be holding your breath waiting for an answer. The previous six posters haven't been on for over FIVE years!
