We're setting up a new ADIX-VS system. Our tech got everything set up fine except for one problem. The KSU is locked away in the basement making it inconvenient to make VM programming changes via the direct PC connection. We had him install a modem connection so that we can simply dial in via the VMI System Editor Software (ver. 2.04).

However, we can't get it to properly connect and the tech doesn't seem to know how to resolve it since he's never done a modem setup before. We can dial in, get the carrier signal, the software goes through the initial negotiating progress bar, then goes to the testing connection progress bar. It then disconnects saying the editor was unable to communicate properly with the voice mail system.

Any ideas? For example, in the Properties Communications setup, does there need to be an init string (we're using a laptop with a built-in modem to try to connect)? In the customer information setup dialog, there is a Communications Version box that has a default 0 in it. Does that need to be changed? I tried a 1 in it but that didn't help.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
