This is a mailbox function, but again, I find it a bit odd that it would just start happening on its own for all mailboxes.
Sorry to keep asking more questions than answering them, but when the caller dials and extension, do they immediately hear music on hold or do they hear ringback tone?

Thank you for your help. I just tried it again, we have it prompt for the caller's name, it then says "please hold while I transfer your call to" and plays the recorded name. The hold music then starts. I do hear the call ring.
I did that while I was on my line on hold on another call, and used my cell phone. It told me that I was busy and the call did go through to voicemail. So the problem seems to be when the incoming call rings and is not answered, then it gets left in limbo.

Silly question but, have you tried resetting the telephone system ?

Don:
I have confirmed with the original poster that the voice mail is a Talkpath with supervised transfer/holding active. The system and the voice mail do not have modems, so aside from checking settings, there isn't a way to see what is going on. When changing a mailbox to blind transfer, everything works fine. Something in the Talkpath with regard to supervised transfer is amiss. It is set for menu 100 to answer all calls, and the phone system type is set for 930.
Oh and yes, both the STS and the Talkpath have been rebooted properly. All four ports (112-115) answer when dialed directly. I'm stumped too.

Ed thank you for your help this afternoon. I had everyone change to blind transfer for now until we can figure it out. Maybe we'll get some clues tomorrow!
Thanks again! It just does not make sense....

Supervised xfer is Mbox COS but you need admin access. NoAnsFwd is in KSU admin but users may override it with the code 640+7440 that Ed gave. Try replacing 440 with 101 (7101) and see if NoAns goes to sta 101. If it does, then the VM becomes suspect.

sorry about posting after Eds last post. I had gotten interrupted before sending the above and forgot about it until the end of my day.

You don't want to use forwarding and supervised transfer at the same time, strange things will happen. Also with supervised transfers you have to define the second action (usually forward to voice mail) for each AA extension.

I agree, Derrick. At first glance, I assumed they were using blind transfer like most people do. In this instance, the customer insists upon not only supervised transfer, but they also want call screening, AND allow callers to hold. It is a waste of port capacity, but.......
We tinkered with blind transfer, which worked fine.
What is strange is that this problem just started with all 12 stations, so I don't see this as being a case of someone accidentally activating something. I sure don't see a COS item changing itself, but then again, who knows?
Geez man, I thought you'd never get here!

Sorry Ed, I didn't realize they were using supervised transfers. I wonder if it has lost a registry item ?
