We have a Telrad 400 with two external IP phones that connect as internal extensions. We have a Sonicwall TZ170 that has been working fine and letting the external phones connect fine. We recently purchased a Sonicwall TZ210 for the additional content filtering capability but have not been able to get the external phones to connect. I have tried to set the new device up with the same configuration as the old TZ170 but to no avail. Does anyon have experience with this problem? I hate not being able to use the new device. Thanks!!

There's not much to set up. Did you port forward the sonic wall correctly.

port 22,21,50505,80 TCP
port 6000-6199 upd

Also make sure the public IP didn't change when you changed the gateway.

I believed there wasn't anything out of the ordinary in setting up the TZ210. All my other servers can connect correctly, Exchange, Remote Desktop, etc, only the IP Phones. I've tried to set it up the same way I had it on the TZ170, but nothing seems to work. If you call an IP Phone it rings, but no one can hear any voice. The public IP hasn't changed from one sonicwall to the other. I made sure to set it up in the new one the same way. I'm about ready to return it to Sonicwall and continue to use the old one. Thanks much for any assistance.

Reset the TVSE card with Putty. I think that should solve your problem.

I have seen the vocoders not work after changing the Firewall.

Check port 6000-6199, This is used for audio traffic.
