My issue is if the connection is closed in the card until the open button is pushed I should be getting continuity, and I am not getting continuity from any of the opener circuits on the card.

The connection is open on the card untill you press the open button then it closes giving you continuity. you will have to run a second relay which is normaly closed and use the system relay to power the second relay to open it, or if the door has a key pad, most of these will accept push to open button that is normaly open contact.

Is the door phone card in service? the pin out for openers is door 1 pins 9-10 door 2, 7-8 door 3, 5-6 door 4, 3-4 pins 1-2 not used.the door relays are on the 10 pin connector and start from the bottom up. the door phones ate on the 8 pin connector and also start from the bottom up.
when you enter code to open door do you hear a relay click. when you press the door button have you picked up the handset.
When you say pressing the door release button what is programmed on it or do you have the video door phone

It is the door open button that shows up as a soft key on the display. I will check all my pins top to bottom to make sure there isn't a wiring snafu.

We can't rule out a faulty card, check if you hear a click when you press open button and when door phone is calling see what door number it is , you could be checking the wrong relay connections for that door

Took a look at it today and sure enough it was mis-wired/labeled for some reason the first pins were labeled as contact opener 1, started at 2nd set of pins and put in *5501 and I got continuity.

What is the rating on the contact, how much current can it take.

Can't quote you the exact value, but we ALWAYS use a relay, you never know what 'sparky' or whoever might do. Relays are easy and cheap to replace, EXCEPT when they are on the PCB you'll have to send to Atlanta! I believe the contacts are good for 1/2 amp @ 24VDC. Be sure to use a back EMF diode across the relay coil. John C. (Not Garand)
