Hello,
Company I work for purchased a new warehouse with a 124i installed. Plan is to use this system as a backup to our antique Nortel Vantage system.
I see a link for manuals, before I purchase I wanted to check and see if the manuals were appropriate for the software on the system, which as I understand is 6.00.16. Does anyone know if the manuals are correct for this chipset?
Can anyone comment on the advantages of newer software?
I have installed two boxes and the cards as follows:
8 7 92040 4ASTU-S1 TI 11-97 2 6 92040 4ASTU-S1 TI 07-98 2 5 92041 4ASTU-S2 MFG Code 66215203 4 92041 4ASTU-S2 MFG Code 66214102 3 92021 8DSTU-S1 TI 03-99 4 2 92021 8DSTU-S1 TI 03-99 4 1 92021 8DSTU-S1 TI 07-99 5 92030 EXIFU-S1 TI 0903 4 8 92040 4PGDU-S1 TI 03-03 2 92012 -4CIDU-S1 TI 08-98 1 7 92011 4ATRU-S1 TI 08-96 92012 -4CIDU-S1 TI 08-98 3 6 92011 4ATRU-S1 TI 04-97 1 5 92011 4ATRU-S1 TI 09-99 1 4 92011 4ATRU-S1 TI07-03 4 3 92021 8DSTU-S1 TI 09-02 1 2 92021 8DSTU-S1 TI 05-03 2 1 92021 8DSTU-S1 TI 07-03 3 1 CPU 32CPRU-S1 TI01-03 3 6.00.16 9.4 DX2NA Tone 1.0 LAPBU-S1 TI 01-98 2 EXCPRU-S1 TI 03-96 1 Can anyone see any problems with this setup?
There is a third cabinet, would it be better to spread the cards over three cabinets versus the two?
Thanks a million,
Jeff

FYI the 124i has discontinued for quite some time now. The version level sounds like the latest.

Probably hasn't been discontinued for as long as the Nortel Vantage. We haven't told the owner we have a backup system. He has stated we can purchase a new phone system when the new office is built--which should be within two years. Reason for backup system is concern that if Vantage died, he might purchase the first system he was presented with, and that might not be the best choice. By having a backup, we will be able to forestall the "Gotta Have It Know" methodology. Concern is also that if we try to switch over to the 124i, owner might decide we don't need a new system. Of course, that might happen if the Vantage dies and we bring up the 124i. Jeff

its a good stable system. just not easy to program if you have never done it before. But out of all the other systems I have programmed the nitsuko 124i/384i/700 are extremely powerfull systems. for there time they did things that took years for competitors to get. out of the digital system it will do everything you can think of with out licencing. The only thing it wont do is IP With the excpru which you have, you can do full blown ACD, with digital announce units ( VAU required)
