During the process of making a 2pair cable longer i think 2 wires touched and now the phone is dead (this extension only)all other phones on the system are working.I noticed 3 or 4 small glass fuses back on control panel, could one of these be blown or does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance for your help.
Regards Paul

have you tried powering down for 10 minutes so and then powering up? I don't think the fuses have anything to do with it but they are easy enough to check since it happened while making the cord have you verified that the cord is good ?

you need to start at the system and verify there is nothing there could be you blew the port , hooking a phone up directly will tell that
you also could go into programing and take a look at the port

Hi Skip,
I tested both pairs in the outlet socket and i am getting 24 volts on both pairs, now i am confused, would this mean the port is ok?

I don't recall the voltages , Ive never been real keen on testing that way ,true test to me is a phone comes up .
have you tried reversing polarity on the second pair?
some of the early tie /Nitusko stuff was polarity sensitive
