Working on a 1 cabinet el lw17 dnic in slot 8 has a few supersets that go off line and display ":6.3 boot 4.4 waiting for sync" I've changed the dnic in slot 8 and the bay controller card. there are 2 more dnic cards in slot 1 & 2 no errors or logs
Any Ideas?

Changed the DNIC out with a newe card or did you roll it with a known working card from slots 1 or 2

As Alex asked, what happens when you roll the card with a working DNIC from 1 or 2? Does the problem follow the card or the slot?
Also, what happens if you lift the jumper and connect the phone at the MDF? (this will eliminate wiring as a cause).
Distance may be an issue, especially if the wiring is 28 gage or smaller, or if there are moisture/corrosion issues at IDFs (look for green snot on the 66 blocks). Check the Technician's Handbook for recommended distance/gage.
You also might have two phones sharing a DNIC port (miswire issue).

A dnic in slot 8 makes me wonder if it was just added and there are not enough port permissions? John C. (Not Garand)

No been working for a while I think and this just popped up - but I will have the moss checked. Problem does not follow card. Will have the wiring checked as well.
Thanks for all the suggestions

The EL with LW17 does not like a DNIC in slot 8. If you have no other slots available, add another bay. I wrestled with this for two years before I found a "footnote" in some tech bulletin that basically said an EL can only support 7 slots reliably.

But '7 slots' referred to the quantity of digital ports, not the slots used for the cards. Limit is 7 cards, any slot. If I remember correctly, it still wouldn't actually support 84 digital ports/cabinet, restricted to 78 (?). John C. (Not Garand)
