Guys, What's your take on Mitel's YA?
I know it's pretty feature rich but what about stability etc? We have a client with this installed and they are ready to throw out this system as the YA is down almost every day.
Sometimes a server reboot works and other times not. I have re-installted the server from bare bones and still no luck.
Thanks, E

We have deployed YA to about a dozen people . The issues we have had are minimal . When people use it off site the voice quality varies with the internet connection they are using . Overall we have been very satisfied and plan to roll YA out to a wider variety of user's .

I have instaled ya lite and full blown in my office. I have a a varity of problems from not being able to dial out via basic rate (fixed by upgrading software of mx to 6.1) to my current problem of not being able to change calender in outlook if ya installed. I believe that alot of issues are being resolved in next ya release.

We have it installed with multiple clients, and really have not had to many issues with it at all. If a server reboot solves your problem, I would look at the computer first. What software version of YA are you running. I know of some major problems with the first release of 3.1, most of our clients are running 3.0. Today I just installed the latest version of YA Lite,on a 200ICP CX, 3.0.2.5 with no issues at all.

have had numerous issues from outlook hanging if ya is opened, to calls that are being made are presented back to the originator of the call on softphones, to audio problems etc etc.

With as many problems that you say you are having and as unhappy as you seem to be with the application . Maybe you should bite the bullet , cut your loses and just xhit xan the YA solution and shop around for another product . Just my opinion .

I suppose that would be an option. The problem though is that I am not the end user but the installer.
So here's my thought process: By asking the question on the forum I can get an idea if the issues I am having are product related or installer (meaning me) related. I am pro Mitel all the way but I need to make sure that the product is not problamatic.
I am certainly not knocking the product by any means. I just want to make an effort to try and improve the end user's experience.
Thanks for the input anyway..

As a Mitel installer to you have full access to the customer's network ? Can you make changes to their Outlook server if needed. Will they follow your advise on bandwith recommendations and purchase additional bandwith if you so determine ? Do you set up the YA user profiles on their PC/LAPTOP ? The issues you describe sound like network , pc issues and not the YA application software . Our issues have been problematic to the outlook server , off site internet quaility , service pack level and user error . The Mitel YA software is reliable and I hope you work through your issues with it .

I would have to agree with OBTW. I think you have some network issues. Are they running pop3 or IMAP. They could have problems with the servers/switches/routing. I think you should be looking for some network errors / packet errors.
Are these ip phones? Are they rebooting periodically? Looking the logs.Is it a 3300 or 200.
Sometimes when people ask me questions when I have an issue, It really helps me think about the problem and rule out some possibilities.
I hope this helps, and might steer you in the right direction. It could be a million things causing these issues. Good luck, and let us know if you figure it out

Hi,
Thanks for the input. I am looking into the various "building blocks". I have asked the client for another server and am going to re-install. The current server is using a network card that is not really known.
The new server has an intel nic. This is a start.
Will let you know the outcome
