Newbie question: Have a Samsung iDCS100 switch with SVMi E-series voice mail card. I work in a small office in which we just purchased the switch with assurance from the salesman that we could install it and easily program it ourselves. Installation was easy, programming not so.
With my purchased tech support I was able to get everything working but for a couple of items. Finally figured most of them out but now I get a message stating that "all trunks are out of service" when I try to MMC800 into the system. I have not yet moved all of my trunk lines over until everyone gets their voice mail setup. But I have new lines punched down and I can hit the button for those lines and dial out. I also can dial in to those lines. Everything was great until.....????
Any help would be greatly appreciated as we are ready to use the little fellar!!!
Robot out........

who installed this system? do you have any tools like a buttset to test the lines? you might want to get a pro in there to set this up.

When you "try" to mmc 800 into the system, are you dialing 800?You need to hit transfer first then 800.Dialling 800 is really dialling 80 to the switch which is the access code for trunk 80 then the last 0 calls the operator.

Actually in the 100 the trunk access codes are 9, then 800, 801, 802 etc. You're probably doing what PVJ says, not pressing the transfer button then 800 to access technician level programming. Kind of curious that a salesperson would say here's your system, program it yourself. The system can do a lot more than what you might be able to just "figure out on your own". If you have any other questions about the system and voicemail I'd be happy to help.

Thanx for the replies, very relieved to hear that I may be in over my head! I was beginning to get a complex!! Although I think I "almost" have everything working. The acronyms are killing me though!
We currently are using a Panasonic four-line "buy it in the box" type of system, but we needed more lines and had to step up to a bigger "pro-type" system. I am using our two "new" lines to get everything working. I have installed PC networks in the past and have some tools. So my boss decided that despite my doubts I could probably install this system (with assurances from the salesman).
When I'm trying to enter 800 level programming I am hitting the transfer button first.
I can hit the buttons for my phone lines and get dial tone and I can dial the lines and pick them up. What I can't do is transfer from one station to another. I was working on this when I exited programming to go to lunch. When I return I can't enter technician level programming.
Won't be back at work until Monday though to test any ideas someone may have.....? I have cycled power on the switch btw.

Transfering a call from one phone to another doesnt take any special programming to make it happen. Hit transfer dial extension and hangup.
When you were trying to get back into programming, did you try it from the same phone or did you try it at another extension and what did the display show?

Sounds like your getting there. By default all trunk ports are in trunk group 9 (mmc 603) you might want to just remove the ones that aren't used. Once your logged into system programming eventually it will time out due to the timer in mmc 501 (kmmc lockout time). To transfer a call to another phone you can do it two ways, while on the call press the transfer button then dial the extension number, at that point you can either screen the call or hang up to transfer. Or if you have a DS key for an extension while on the call simply push the DS key for that extension to transfer the call.

Of course if you some how erased your transfer key from that keyset by accident you may have the symptoms that you are seeing. If you press the transfer key from an idle phone, does it ask you to enter the PGM ID?

To give you a little bit of time, once you are in programming, go into MMC501, and arrow up to KMMC. Right cursor to the 30 and type in 250. You now have almost 4 minutes to get out of programming. If you dial 701, you will get line one on the system if you have a dial tone punched down to it. The same for 702 to get line 2, etc. If you dial 704 for instance and there is no trunk punched down on it (or in the proper place for line four) you will get [Out of service]. If you want to email me privately, I will walk you through the setup, which is very easy. We can't post passcodes on the board. Thanks, Bunnie [email protected]

OK....after one hellacious Monday I'm back to phone work. Still locked out of MMC800. So it appears that time-out reset idea is not getting me anywhere.
Getting the "all trunks out of service". It appears that I have changed the factory "transfer" key as it does not work, but button 26 (on a 28 btn phone)does work for my transfer function. If I hit the factory button I get: New Retry Save
Buttons for 701 and 702 work both in and out, 703-706 are not yet punched down (still using them on our old system).
So basically everything works, just not on the buttons that I prefer. But I still have no way getting into the system to make any changes if I "needed" to!
