What is a really good brand for a butt set?

I use a Harris TS22. I don't know if its the best, but I've been very happy with it.

Actually I do still have an old rotary dial Western Electric one if you want to be different.

Sandman has some butt sets that are made in France Ive had one for a long time now its out lasted 2 or 3 Harris sets

My favorite one is the one I bought right after being laid off from Bell in 82. It is a black rubber rotary dial. You did say favorite, right?

My first "sophisticated" butt set was a Harris TS21 and I bought it with the ground-start feature and cord set. That was in 1984 when I was forced to replace my Western Electric orange rotary dial model due to "emerging technogy requirements".

Maybe I just developed a good "feel" for the set and it's controls. That TS21 seemed to be perfect for me. I eventually evolved to other versions of the TS21 (orange/yellow) waterproof, and then the TS22 family of datasafe or speakerphones, etc. I also used the AT&T orange touch-tone set, but no love with any of them.

I don't work in the field anymore, but when I found the need to keep a butt set for working on my own home system, or when doing work for friends, I found myself looking to purchase a TS21 again.

I bought a brand-new basic (blue/blue) TS21 (under the Leviton name) on e-bay and it's once again my favorite. It just seems to fit the hand, head and shoulder well, so I would rather just deal with it's lack of today's sophisticated qualities. I am showing my age, but hey, I say that you should go with what works for you.

By the way, I have one of those French ones I bought under the "Ideal Telecom" name. I would be happy to sell it to anyone interested. It's been used about three times and I hate it because it's like holding a 12" pice of 2X4 up to your head.

In 21 years I still have one favorite, the Harris TS22A which is a speakerphone. There are plenty of times where the speakerphone part of it was worth its weight in gold. The unit turns off after a few minutes so you can't kill the 9 volt battery.

As of 11/22 almost midnight there is one on eBay at $65 but it will probably go up. If you are OK with used, watch eBay for a week or two. Retail is about $300.

If you want new, go to google and type in the search bar: Harris TS22A.

Hit a bunch of sites and see who has the lowest price when you include shipping and or tax.

ts22a is the best I have had . I also have a ts25d which has some nice features but if I have to choose one ts22 is it

why buy a cheapo import when you can get the real thing (ts22 ) on ebay for the same money .

I paid 50 on ebay for the ts22 I use now .

I've had a Harris TS22A for about five years now and it hasn't let me down yet. I don't know if its the best, but remember you get what you pay for.
