Greetings All,

It has been a long time since I've used it, does anyone remember the command from a digital phone to identify what card and port a digital phone is on from the phone itself? I have an old client whose IT guy is attempting to add a new digital phone. He says the phone works but won't display the extension number he can call it, and it rings, and he can make outbound calls. He assigned a name to it in DM and the name doesn't show either. The last time I saw something like that it was split pairs, I think.

Thanks as always,
John 807

Sounds to me like the port has no extension number assigned to it. Try a Transfer 108 and it will show what port it's on.

How is he calling it if he doesn't know what extension it is? (genuinely curious)
Trans 108 from the set will tell you it's system resources, as folks say above, and you set the extension in the numbering plan 724.

Since the I.T. team took over administration of the systems they email me with quirky stuff that makes me scratch my head. I point them in a general direction and usually don't hear from them on the issue again. If I had to guess he dialed a valid extension just not the phone he thought he set up. At the moment they are looking for a solution to remove the Samsung systems and put in an on prem VOIP Solution. I sent them info on Grandstream.
