Have you ever seen a WebLM error crop up on your IP Office Server Edition Web Manager dashboard when you know darn well that WebLM is running just fine? We kept seeing this intermittently after an upgrade from R11.0 to R11.1 and couldn't quite pin it down.

The issue turned out to be that 127.0.0.1 (the internal loopback address) kept getting blacklisted by the IP Office. Presumably this would have wreaked havoc for One-X Portal (which we were not using) but the only other symptom was the WebLM error.

Here's where you look in System Status to see if the loopback address is blacklisted:

Look at this Avaya Solution for the steps to permanently whitelist 127.0.0.1 which are:

Set the IP Office to automatically add the loopback address to the whitelist. It can’t be added manually as it’s blocked in Manager. In order to do this you will need to delete at least one whitelist entry to make room for it. This can be done as follows:

1. In SysMon connect to the Primary system and select Status>Blacklisted IP
addresses. Select 127.0.0.1 and click “Remove Entry”.

2. Now open the config in Manager and on the Primary system navigate to
System>VoIP>Access Control Lists.

3. Delete one of the 20 automatic entries in the IP Whitelist.

4. Immediately login with a valid username and password either via the 1XP web page or from 1X mobile. The IP Office should add 127.0.0.1 to the whitelist. Check this by retrieving the config again in Manager.

Once the 127.0.0.1 address is in the Whitelist it will remain there unless manually removed and the problem will never reoccur.
