I'm new to my company, but have had experience with CIX. The PC that had eManager on it has died, so I built a new one and tried to install eManager 5.20 on it but got the old CANNOT_CONNECT_TO_CALL_AGENT message, so I thought it was because I was trying to run a newer version of eManager than the old PC had. So I installed the version that was on there which was 5.10A14, but still get the same message. I am using the default Community Name, so I suspect that somewhere along the line, someone changed it. The original vendor went out of business so now I'm stuck. Anyone have an idea on how I can force a change or see what the CIX thinks it's Community Name is?

Although rare, the default community name could be changed. But before assuming that, you already verified the IP address with no network IP conflicts, and you know the default community name with all the correct capital lettering?
The last thing to do is power cycle the system to be sure that the admin port is not locked up. Usually this happens when the voice mail is the Windows based Stratagy ES or iES.
Otherwise I am sure Toshiba support probably has a way to get into the system. For this you would need to contact another Toshiba dealer.

Yep, that's what I'm thinking too. I am positive on the IP address and we have the Stratagy iES32 card in the box. But we don't operate it by any Windows software. This thing is so old that I'm wondering how long it will take for the dang VM hard drive to crash. It's making all kinds of noise in there. I heard about an option to get it upgraded to use SSD - but again, finding a local Toshiba dealer is very difficult.

The STratagy IES is a Windows based system. There was a bug where the admin port on the CIX would stop working. This primarily happens when the system has a Stratagy iES voicemail. Before assuming the community name has changed, try cycling the power on the phone system first.
The chance of the HD failing is very real. We have sent many systems to a repair center which replaces the hard drive with a Compact Flash card, like the Stratagy IES16, although I have seen a system with a compact flash card fail as well.
The noise is probably the fan.

You can find the communityname in the StratagyIES. One method is to look through StratagyES Admin under telephone system integration. The communityname will be listed there. Another way is to log into the Windows NT desktop of the IES using Netmeeting. With this method you have to go into regedit and I believe it's under localmachine/software/tais/stratagyES. Look through this key and it will have it listed there as well.
There's a company out of PA that will change out the IES from HDD to a Compact Flash. Think it's like $400. Their website is vortexamerica.com
