I have a customer who owns a hotel and is nearly going out of business. They have a Mitel SX200D. This is a system I havent seen before and I thought it was a Mitel 200 before I cut the system over to digital.

Now the problem lies multiple phantom calls with even one line connected. These are new digital to analog lines and my understanding is the lines are not constant like analog. Could a fluctuation in the line from being a digital line cause this problem? He may want a replacement and I am not a hotel sytem tech but I am learning does anyone have any suggestions? DOes the sx200d have digital capabilities?

Were the old lines Ground Start? You may need to reset the LS/GS jumper or switch on the card.

How do I do reset the switch? Also the line lights on the cards lite up and the auto attendant seems to be a possible culprit. Thank you in advance for your assistance

Depends on the card. If they are the old 4 port cards in the analog bay there is a switch on the daughter cards and if they are the 6 port trunk cards in the digital bay there are flea clips for each circuit.

More likely jumpers rather than flea clips. They are marked LS GS with a post in the middle. Shorting from the middle post to either LS or GS produces the mode.

You may have another problem. If you are dealing with Comcast or some other pseudo CO provider, the voltage and current to the trunk cards may be too off standard to allow them to work. This is especially the case if the trunk cards are the older analog cards. Take some voltage and current readings and see how far off they are before diving head long into the switch.

Another thing to check is ringing voltage. Also, if the new circuits are trying to emulate open tip trunks, make sure the tip and ring are correct. Reversals are common and the result is phantom ringing.

Is there an analog card for the system? It was working intermittently. Line 1 would go through aa worked as it should. I worked with Tri this afternoon and she had me check four switched labeled 1-2 up to down they were switched in the up position. Does this confirm loop start? Also she stated the phone system lost programming.

alarm reset code - E021-20-001-000

Extension to extension calling is working as it should. The extensions can call the console and transfers are happening as they should.

Could the programming been default?

If you are getting an alarm code like that you have an old SX200 analog switch so you would have the 4 port trunk cards and yes change the switches on the cards.
Hard to say what happened with the programming.
