So, you're trying to use the cheapest of the cheap and wonder why it won't work? Try Phone Power. They let you port the business line and provide service for anywhere from $6 to $20 a month, depending on payment and contract. Carl

If the phone number is owned by a ILEC, they fall under rural exemption and don't *have to* port the phone number away. I have a client who is served out of ILEC territory and can't port his business number away.

If they can't port it, can they move it or forward it?
