I have a customer that says when people hang up in the voicemail it doesnt hang up, and rings the phones. I was just wondering if there is a call disconnect timer? I would like to tweak the pbx if possible before calling this particular carrier....

There is a LCO CPT Detect timer maybe...the documentation is kinda vague about this. PGM 181. Range is 00 to 20 seconds. I don't know what the default is. I would use admin to check this.

I assume you are asking about the SBX VM when you don't get any TelCo disconnect supervision?

Derrick, I saw that in the PCAdmin tool and was wondering, but like you said it is vague. This is what I find in the manual: "To check LCO status after LCO is connected, system assigns CPT periodically with this timer. To activate this, CO - CO XFER CPT detect (PGM160 - F16) should be set to ON" I guess I can try it and see what is going on. I have two sbx installs today so maybe I will play with it and see if it makes any difference.

I've never had to change any settings to get proper disconnect and would guess that your problem is with the carrier. Have you tried monitoring a call with your butt-set to see what happens when someone hangs up?

I have seen alot of these issues when using an Arris box (time warner - digital trunks). Whats funny is when you call telco and ask them about disconnect supv - they have no idea what your talking about. Place a call to your cell phone. Put the call on hold at the desk. Hang up the cell phone. See if the co drops - if it doesnt - u know its the carrier.

We have had some ridiculous experiences with Arris boxes. We have one customer (Cablevision, NY) who is on their third Arris box. Calls take forever to go out or dont connect, drop etc. Change the box and it all goes away. Havent had the problem in a couple of months, wonder if Arris had a bad run of boxes.

I find it to be the people at the "co" that are the problem. Have only seen one bad arris box and it had just gone completely haywire. Not sure about time warner, but comcast uses them here, and even the field techs get irritated with co. The one put his cell on speaker and let me hear the person on the other end ask 5 people how to set up a hunt group ^_^. To the problem at hand take the steps as mentioned above. I ran into this only once, thought it was alarm at first.
