Can an external ringer be placed on a single station. That is controld by a DKSC16 circuit. If so do I need an AC or DC ringer and how should it be wired?

You cant put a analog ringer directly on a digital extension from a DKSC circuit. You can however install a SLA (single line adapter) to a digital DKSC circuit. This would give you two analog line circuits from one digital circuit. Or you could install a PCDPM and a MDPM to a digital phone giving you the analog line circuit at the digital phone.
Are you just trying to install a loud ringer to a phone so you can hear it from far away?

You can connect a Speaker (I use Valcom 5watt horns) to the leads of the digital phones speaker. When the phone rings it will ring over the speaker. One downside is that anytime speaker is used, then it goes over the horn. Tho you can select background music (313) and play music over the horn.
