B-screen reset set to No Diagnostics reset set to Y on disable. System says it reset at 8:18 this morning any ideas what the following codes tell us? Thinking it has to be a bad piece of hardware causing the issue...... Thanks in advance!! I have had this same problem on 42's and 84's before, but I think I have it figured out. Its not a hardware issue, its a short somewhere. Here's what you need to do: Pull all the amp cables off the 84, take your multi-meter, put the - to a ground, and run the + down each pin of your station blocks. Normally, you shouldn't see anything, but on the shorted one you will probably get a reading in the Meg-ohms range. I have fixed 2 of them like that so far. Start by unplugging the base cord, and meter again, then the jack, and if its not there, swap the cable.
Seems to be running clean. Went out and when I asked if they had heard of any complaints at all from users the customer said one of the users had complained of low volume but they helped him use the vol up key to fix it. I went to that phone lifted it off the desk, lights flashed system crashed...... replaced phone and line cord problem solved (maybe) Randy Juno it was a M-32
IDS 84 changed out PS and all 4X8 cards, CPU less than a year old from Aable Telecom. Tested each pin in amp conectord for ground falt, all test clear. system just resets for no aparent reason...
Are you sure you are not having a power problem to the system. And would also make sure it is grounded correctley and on a dedicated outlet. The system will reset due to idle time as well. Was the system idle or was it in use when it reset.
Sounds like the idle-time reset, otherwise..... Is the electrical on a computer grade isolated grounded outlet? Do you have a good quality power conditioner on the system? How often does this happen? I've had radio towers, Ham radio operators, and high powered CB's cause a out-of-the-blue reset but would look to the power, or the ground first.
System is on a UPS and an ONEac conditioner and grounded, has been running at location for over 10 years, CPU replaced last year due to power outage and bad CPU battery (just as cheap to get newer CPU with all the downloads as to haveing them turned back on after replacing battery.) I was just on the phone with the customer and got droped. They said the system reset and I noticed that the audio was choppy (they are shareing a voice and data from a provider) System is set to reset at 3:30 am
Sounds like you may have a grounding issue. Also make sure the Oneac is in front of the UPS not after it. And of course make sure your time is set correctly in the System programming screen and it's not doing a overnight reset during the day. I'm sure you have checked that.
Since last post I replaced the CPU and reloaded program, with in an hour it reset. So I changed the last thing the KSU, which is just a box with a big transformer.... guess what it hasn't reset in the past two days. Will keep you posted.
