I once did the "flush the toilet" trick in the empire state building.
We used an ground lead to close a relay that worked the toilet. It was the president of the firm's private bath room. His friends would be over, they'd use the bathroom and when they walked out he would say "Did you flush?" and hit the key. The toilet would flush and his friends would jump. Between us, the electricians and the plumbers he spent almost as much on that as he spent on the phone system. He thought it was worth it.

Phone_ , if the flush button really trips your trigger, go to instructables.com for the cheap way to turn water on and off electrically. Hmmm, thinking about it, all you'd really need is a solenoid to lift the flapper valve.  john C.
