Hi all,
I am looking for some equipment for my company. The boss likes to have the 1A2 Phone System in place, but he's tired of daisy-chaining his feed right in front of each phone/fax.
We're looking for a way to localize the splitting and hope to find something that can take 1 amphenol In and turn it into at least 6 amphenol Outs.
Speaking with parts guys, I've heard I may be looking for a Patch Panel that is a 1x6 Amphenol Splitter, perhaps a Break Out Box ...
Bottom line is I want something that uses Amphenol Ins and Outs and creates several Outs.
If anyone can help me limit my search, offer me terminology, part names, parts numbers, or has this kind of part somewhere, please let me know.
My company is called Interpage.net, you can call me at 510-315-2750 or respond to my email through the board.
Any help is much appreciated. Easy on.

What you are looking for is called a bridging adapter. I remember having some that were 1 in and 4 or 5 out but can not find them anymore. The only ones I have seen recently are 1 in with 2 out. https://www.suttleonline.com/trad_adapters_25_50pair.html

Amphenol makes a KS-19252L1 or a KS 19252-L3. One in and two outs and daisy chain a few together. If your using older western sets such as six buttons you will need to remove your Vl Brn and SL Pairs from the sets. I think it's time to stop watching Black and white TV and get some color on the screen. One other way would be to get an older amphenol cat 3 96 port patch panel and make modular jumpers on the ports. What a mess but it would work. You would have somthing about the size of a plastic milk box when your done. Hey, the plastic milk box will hold your wires nicely.

Suttle is about the only place you are going to find something like this. I don't know if they actually still make these items, but you might find them on Google or e-bay. Here is a place to start:
Suttle #SE-825L6-1P49 (gray) or 1P50 (beige) has one input and six outputs Suttle #SE-825L7-1P49 (gray) or 1P60 (beige) gives seven outputs. Suttle #SE-825L8-1P49 (gray) or 1P60 (beige) gives eight outputs. Suttle #SE-825L9-1P49 (gray) or 1P60 (beige) gives nine outputs. SE-825L10- yadda, yadda; 10 outputs SE-825L11- 11 outputs SE-825L12- 12 outputs
Remember the thing about disconnecting the violet/green, violet/brown and violet/slate pairs within the phones or you will be in for a world of trouble.
What you really want is the Suttle #899-1A2 which is a 10-station cross-connect system which allows you to change certain features via a single 25 pair connector. If you aren't using intercom, that probably wont' be an issue.
These all are probably long-since discontinued, but you might find someone who has one or two sitting in storage that they want to get rid of.
If you can't find any of these, then you are pretty much out of luck for an off-the-shelf solution. Still, there are probably ways to have a custom assembly made. Let me know if you are in a pinch and I will see what we can do for you.

Thank you everyone!
I am on a much better footing to start finding this stuff. I will be back on, especially if we start building stuff ourselves.
Thanks again. Mayur

Forgive me for asking this but what is in the mind of somebody who would want to actually use and maintain a 1A2 today?
I know there are some out there that still exist mainly because they have been there and still work but to put money and effort into them for MACs is ridiculous unless it's just for giggles.
Like somebody said, it's time to throw away your B&W TV, color has been perfected...

That's great Im going to build 1a2. This is what it stands for.... One sting and two cans. I like the sound quality of the maxwell house type coffee cans and for the sting I use piano wire. Better for long distance calls. 1stringAnd2cans! Number please?

These things were called CPCs or PCPs because you had a little beige or gray box that had three or more amphenol connectors or plugs.
One female cable coming out of the wall would plug into the center male plug and the printed circuit board would give you a female connector on either side to hook up two phones. Thus a CPC.
These were made in all kinds of combinations and for double 25 pair cables and tripple 25 pair cable etc.
A box to give you three 75 pair phones from one cable would be a PPP CCC CCC CCC (plugs and connectors.)
Hope you enjoy the history lesson, it is free.
I see no problem in building 1A2 equipment, hell people are still building chastity belts and the 1A2 is more reliable and more useful.
