We are getting roped into helping out with one of our customers ( a school) that is moving to a new building..they want us to look at the existing paging system in the building..I did it's an old old console a Strom thats all it say's on the console made in Chester, PA it has to be original i.e. 1970's...anyone ever heard of such a beast?
I know it's going to have to go...I'm gonna have to get someone in on this deal over my head..It would make a great boat anchor..(for a big boat)
Just wanted to check and see if anyone know's anything about this unit...

Strom was a spin off from Stromberg Carlson I worked on many of those intercoms 20-30 years ago most have been replaced by now. I may still have parts if you want to restore it. smile It can be replaced with new equipment but if its that old you should replace everything wires, speakers and call switches.

If it was built after 1980 don't expect it to work right.

Took a look at the wiring panel and they did a good job at that, it all looks good, your right speakers are going to need to be replaced and a new console is a definate. Any good suggestions? This one is a monster..I should have taken the camera with me...it has 3 stacks of 4 bays all the bays on the left side are switches for speakers..and 3 stacks in the center console are for radio and mic controls...Want me to ship it to you Merritt? heh
