I've received this hand-me-down system. The IDS84 seems to work fine, but when I power up the Digitalks QVX8IDS voicemail card, the IDS84 shuts down.

I could also use some help with what the passwords may have been.

Thanks

Having trouble talking through the RS232 port, too. However, when I tell it Ctrl+P, it says...
running version 42/84 7 on 02:09 a Sat 10-16-44...
It thinks it's 1944 or 2044?
There's a OPX card in the far left slot. I tried taking that out and putting the voice mail card... but had same result of the whole system shutting down.

Thanks, Dan

7.0 software is not Y2K. That makes it 1944.
Is your terminal type TVI920?
Can you get in using any of the level passwords?

The VXC can go in either of the last two slots on left. You can power up card on a table, hookup keyboard, and monitor to test by itself.

Good Luck!!

If all else fails, use a BFH.
