I have an ongoing issue that tech support can't seem to work out and I was wondering if any of you have seen this too. I installed one of the new OS7200s processors, new installation so new cabinet, pri card, station cards, etc. The software version on the OS7200s systems is 4.45. I know we had nothing but trouble with the 4.42 software and have now rolled every system we can back to 4.30i but that's not possible with the 7200s....
Every day, sometimes several times a day, the system resets itself for no reason and populates the System Error log with a Watchdog error. The system is not networked so we know the network isn't causing the error. We've replaced every card in the system, including the processor... Still have no change in the issue and tech support doesn't have an answer for me.
I don't really expect to find the solution here as I believe that the problem lies in the software releases above 4.30. I just want to know if any of you have run into any of this either. It seems that tech support doesn't like to let us know that they've seen the issue in other installations; much like the IP phone registration issue that's well documented in tech forums yet they keep denieing that they've ever seen anyone have the problem.
Just a heads up; don't buy or especially sell anything these guys put out above 4.30 software until it's been out for a year or two preferably. I know we used to adhere to this policy. We let it slip for a while this year because the pricing on the 7200s was so competitive with the voice mail being built into the processor, freeing up a card slot and about 1500 dollars of cost but in hind-site, it has almost cost us a very good customer as we've spent so much time with their equipment down trying to work out Samsung's crappy Beta equipment in a working installation.
This is the kind of thing that will cost a manufacturer dealers. I know I wouldn't cry if our president came in and said enough of this and left Samsung in the dust over this.

See my earlier thread about your issue. One poster had a fixed that didn't work for us.
We believe there is something in IT tool/7200s/4.45 that causes a corruption.
We defaulted everything back to factory and reprogrammed from scratch two months ago and haven't had a alarm since.
Please be aware the 4.46d software is out we have it running on our 7200S with no issues since ... yesterday.
If I were you I'd bite the bullet and upgrade to 4.46d and manually re-enter the database. Buy a second 7200s for a swap out.
I agree with your policy about letting everyone else deal with the latest software releases. It is my opinion you are being a little hard on Samsung though. We've been dealers for several products since the mid-80s and Samsung - since 2006 or so - has been well above average in product reliability. (The late '90s Cadence was a nightmare).

I am downloading the new softeare from GSBN now. I didn't know they had released it yet.
The only solution that they're giving me now is moving cards around in the cabinet and waiting... At least they're telling me now that they have 3 other systems doing the exact same thing out there now.
You're right about them being above average overall and pre-officeserv I think the equipment has generally been iron clad. We've got Prostar 816 systems still working off of the original memory batterie and power supplies out there for a couple of decades now. It's the newer products that we've just been unimpressed with and I personally think it's because they're rushing the products out and using the customer as the Beta testers. That's what I really have a problem with.
I worked on a project for the last 3 years installing the Nortel BCM 500 systems in every Kroger store in South East Texas and Louisiana and every one of those systems had been put together, programmed and tested by the manufacturer before they ever made it to the customer. I'm not asking that Samsung do anything that labor intensive but at least make sure that the cards you say can go in particular slots will work in said slots before we go and put it into place in a working environment and look like fools once it doesn't work. If the problem ends up being that a 16DLI card can't go into slot 1 or 2 of the cabinet, that should have been tested.
It just seems like they're not doing their homework here and then to top it off, when you call with a problem they want to point to it being a network issue right away. It's frustrating.

I had the same issue and was giving the same option. I did not do that option but instead I went into programming and disabled MPS and MGI->MPS. I have not had the issue in 3 days. My system was reseting every few hours. And getting watch dog errors.

I have messed around with MPS and it caused a little issue. Plus I thought that the MPS had to effect the processing some way. So I followed a hunch. As of 5:30 pm I have not had another watch dog error or reset. I changed it Monday at 8:30 am.
