Ver 2.2 is the version of the phone not the software in the cabinet. You need Ver. 2.6 in the cabinet to use iDCS18D phones.
Where did you get the Compact? That dealer should help you.

The dealer is out of business and I am a Norstar Tech. I am trying to help this non-profit because they had a power surge which knocked their system out. I changed the fuses and the cabinet because the cabinet kept blowing the fuses.

What do I need to do to upgrade the software? Is it loaded with a computer?

Take the software out of the old cabinet it may still be OK. Also I need to correct a typo in my post above, the Version you need is 2.6 and not 6. The final version for that product is 2.8. the iDCS phones require 2.6 and up.
