The power supply can be completely unplugged from the KSU. I have one here in a crash kit. If it blows when everything is unplugged from the ksu and you power up the power supply, and you want to try to repair the system, you'll need to start with a good power supply and see if anything else is bad. Hense the reason I keep one in a crash kit.

If you have any old Vodavi DHSs in your shop--the power supplies are the same as the DX-80s. We've used them to power up DX-80s in a pinch.

Sometimes it a lot easier to just replace the cabinet, use the same cards (CPU etc) and be done with it---if you think that it's just the power supply.

Send PSs to ********* to get repaired. I've sent about 8 to them and have been satisfied with all.

The output of the transformer should be about 30 Volts AC. If the AC fuse is open then you might have a bad diode in the bridge ciruit. Test all the diodes in the power supply, 4 in the bridge circuit and 2 in a full wave arrangement.

Most weren't DX-80 PSs, but Vodavi DHS PSs.(same) I think, the bad DX-80 PSs came from E-Bay. I bought 3 one time at a real good price to use as parts--all three had bad PSs.

B&H Phones:

Did you get a resolution to this? I'm just wondering whether it ended up being the power supply, or if the ps was blowing due to another card.
