How does one make a SL port access a line or a line group (9) when picking up the handset? I'd like to use a SL port for a credit card machine but want it to access a line and not the intercom first. I've changed digital extensions with F95, but can you change SL extensions that way too? I see nothing in the SL user guides and can't find anything so far in the PCDBA. I'll keep looking. Thanks in advance.

This is referring to the DX-80 system--F33 software.

Here's the proceedure for a modem or fax. I guess it would be the same for a CC as well.

Using Prime CO Instead of Intercom with Modem or FaxSolution:
Analog Prime Line—Setting Up A Prime Line for a FAX Connected to an Analog Port Using CO line 4.
1. Place line 4 (743) into CO group2 (800).
2. From the Fax machine, go off hook and dial 800 (be sure you are accessing line 4). Then dial a valid number. You must dial out on that line /(line group) before programming the hot line (dial 740 for line 1, 741 for line 2, 742 for line 3 etc.…).
3. Program a System Speed dial bin with a pause. To do this, you can use PCDBA or program using the phone.
Using PCDBAGo to the DX80 PC-DBA System Resource SPD. No. Programming Tenant 1screen in PCDBA. Choose a system speed dial bin (DIR#s 500-699), and insert a P for pause in its SPD. No. field.

I've printed out your instructions and will try that on site. It looks confusing to me now, but like everything else, once you do it, it's easy. Thanks alot. I'll let you know what happens.

I understand what you want to do but maybe you would be better to program the CC machine to dial 9 pause and then it's number. That way it can use any available line on the system in group 1.
Similarly I program Fax machine speed dials with 740, 741, etc. so they can choose a line to use or put 9 on one to use any line.
I suppose some sites will have a reason to use a specific line but the beauty of the SLP is being able to use any line.
Just my 2 cents.

I agree. I'm trying to emulate to an extent, what they had before...which was a Partner ACS. Monday, when they open for business, the CC machine has to be working, and I just figured that it would be less of a hassle to have it programmed to access a line---either by programming or by just xconnecting it to the fax line.---just to get it going. I've had to program all the extensions to access the dial "9" group when going off hook, and to put an ITCM key on the phone---because that's what they want. I get tired of trying to get people to look at the advantages of ITCM first if they're coming from an ATT/Lucent/Avaya product and are used to having ITCM keys. Thanks for the input.

Hey JWRacedog, I just had to do this to a DX80 myself.
Go off-hook and get intercom dial tone, then dial #95 1 743 or *95 1 743 and you got it.
Sorry I can't remember if it is * or #.

I knew that there was an easier way, but I couldn't remember it. Thanks

If i'm not mistaken, I think doing it that way, the programmed IST will lose it programming in a power outage

Got back finally---didn't really do anything with the CC machine. I have jumper wires ready to xconnect to a fax line, a no hunt line, or a sl port. I'll just ask 'em what they want and go from there. Thanks for the input. I'm ready for anything. mick
