Recently got this NEC system. My tech seems very new to this system and I want to verify some things:

1. We have 4 auto attendants set up. The tech said that because of this, the night/day mode can only be done manually - not automatically by schedule. Is this correct?

2. Along the same lines, can the system be switched to Night mode remotely?

3. Is there any way to backup the system? Tech tells me I have to buy another component/software.

4. Do the phones (extensions) ever need firmware upgrades? I have a couple of the bluetooth handsets.

(1). No, Have him Check MB12-02. For Time set up.
(2). Yes, If You Have Access Via IP(VPN) Use Webpro and Change the times in MB12-02.
(3). Yes,System Backup is Done with a Jump Drive Via USB. But You'll need SV8100 PCPro.
(4). The Firmware on the Phones should be OK, I'm not sure about the Bluetooth. Check NTAC Website for any Firmware Updates.

Thanks.. I will drop him a note...

One further question... Music On Hold and Background Music using one external source MOH jack.

I have:
1. set MB 10.04.01 to External
2. Set 10.21.04 to CN8 - BGM, CN9 – External Speaker.
3. 22.11.09 Set to Back Ground Music Source

Well... I've seem to have lost MOH but have BGM... What did I miss!??!?!

Program 10-21-04, set to MOH/External Speaker. Sometimes the system needs a reset after this command, I have heard.

If you need seperate MOH & BGM, you will need to utilize a PGD adapter on an unused digital station port for the BGM.

Sorry I've yet to Hook up BGM to External Speaker's But Shouldn't 10-21-04 Be: CN8- Music On Hold, CN9- External Speaker? And are You using a PGD(2)?

Yes .. the 10-21-04 Be: CN8- Music On Hold, CN9- External Speaker is correct.

But I think I've got some adjustments to make in 14-08 and/or 22-11-09..

Well ... the challenge continues...

The main software version on my unit is 2.50.

Does the MOH/BGM work around apply to a newer software version?

Just to clarify...

What do you want BGM to do?

Using the MOH connector on the CPU blade will give you BGM over the telephone speakers, not over external page.

Program 10-21-04 & 10-04-01 is all you need to setfor MOH/BGM.

Turn program 22-11-09 back to MOH.

I want BGM for each extension if desired by user.
MOH as normal. Both using the CN8 input.

I had to use one audio source for both, you will need to parallel audio into CN8 and CN9 depending on 10-21-04 or use CN8 and a PGD if you are using the EXSP on CN9.
