Ok i nerver really got this speed dial down for dss buttons. The customer is now on me about getting this to work. If someone has time to break down programs 73 and 74 to me. I basically need to program dss buttons on buttons 1-16 on a phone. I dont quite understand the memory cell stuff. Please help me get thru this so the customer will stop getting on my butt.

That helps a little, but still little confused. I dont understand why NEC has to make dss buttons so hard to program. If anyone else has any tips please help.

I don't know the 2000 much, but I don't think two extensions should have the same programming in commands 73 and 94. They should be unique to each extension. Also, if you're programming a 32 key phone, command 94 should be different than 73, and end with a "2".

Series E has many kinds 8, 16,and 32 buttons.
If I am NOT wrong ,only the 16 "one touch/speed dial buttons " provide lamp status "on & off" ,the the others can't.
Simply use one button of those 16 one touch buttons and your issue will be solved.

There is no reason why two extensions can't be assigned the same setting in 94 and 73. The point is they will share the same memories. It is best however if only one station is allowed to programme the memories. So all stations could be set for example to 000102 and they will have the first block of twenty memories but one station should be set to 000002 which would share the same memories but be the station that can programme/change the setting of each memory.

It depends on the type of 16E you have eg D or DD there was a famous case here in OZ when a tech sent a dterm back because the lamps didn't light. It came back with the message "No F*@&ing lamps" They later issued a model with lamps.

refering to R4+Z reply, can you specify what model of Dterms are you using??that is with or without lamps

R4+Z
It is true that two extension can share the same memory.
but as you know,CM94 is used to program one touch memory, while CM73 is used to program the station speed dilaing.
accordingly, can we assign the same memory cell for the 94 & 73 commands without possiblity of conflict??

I would have to get some handsets out to check the models. If I get chance later I will.

I don't see any conflicts as all you are doing is pointing them to a memory location. As you see, if you want DSS functionality you have to assign both commands the same setting. So I don't think conflicts could arise.
