Can I install a 3031-40 PRIB (XTS) in a 8003-00 system (DVX) instead of the 8031-32 PRIB? The 2 boards look alike in the Manuals (DVX I+II and the XTS).

You'll have to call support on that one. The cards are probably backward compatible but not forward compatible like you want to do.
