hello guys im ina jam. customer has a teleco ust 1040 and it looks like a dk16. they have 3 cards in the exp cab. slt 4 =kcdu, slt 5 =pcou, slt 6 = pdku. i added a line in the pcou card, it didnt have any lines in it. i went to prorgam the phones to get line 7. the one i was programing alrady had it assigned but it couldnt be accessed on the phone. i think the system needs the card to be assigned. i only have a toshiba manual that limps me along most of the time on this system. i went to prog 03 for card slot assngmt. for the card slot digits it will put in a 0 and after that it wont take a second digit other than a second 0 and thin it will id the card as 91. does anyone have an idea whats going on with this. thank you dave

I believe the Teleco UST 1040 is the Toshiba 16e. Check your slot assignment in Prog 03 - your slt 4 is slot 15 in programming, slt 5 is slot 16, and your slt 6 is slot 17.

i will try that. it enters a 0 automatically when i am trying to put in the slot number. and it wont take the digit 1 after the 0. is there a way i can backspace and get rid of the 0 so i can put in 16. thanks dave

Maybe you do have the older DK 16. What do you have programmed in slots 04, 05, and 06?

i cant see how they are programed it will only respond to 00. slot 4 has a kcdu, and slot 6 had a pdku. i think they are programed as such becuase they work. slot 5 had the pcou and doesnt seem to be recognised. my manual says with a kcdu you cant have a pcou or a pdku in the exp cab. but this is a teleco and has a few differances like 3 digit ports and such, so i dont know how good the info is. and the pdku does seem to work ok with it. really got me stumped

There are no differences between the Teleco and the Toshiba KSUs that I know of except the model number. Three digit port numbers indicates it is a DK16e. Eight COs was the limit on the DK16, but the DK16e will max out at 10 COs. I know of no reason the PCOU would not work in slot 5, nor why you can't view or program any slot in the cabinet except the processor (slot 00).
Try checking Prog 40 & Prog 41 for CO line restrictions as the possible culprit.

i went back out today and changed it so the exp cab has 2 kcdu cards and i can get into programing and have the slots programed but i still dont get any line 7 or 8 either. the button dosent respond, no lights. i checked and in program 40 they are assigned and none are restricted in prog 41. both kcdu cards have startions from them and they work and the first one had lines 5 &6 that work. is there anything i could have overlooked on this job. thanks dave

I would reinitialize the system. There is a bug that might be cleared by doing so. I had to reinitialize a DK 16 3 times to clear a CF issue when installing VM. Pull the battery jumper as well.
