You will need to kno wthe IP address fo the CTX 28 and use a cross over cable to connect to it. The default IP address is: 192.168.254.253. Your PC or laptop IP address needs to be at 192.168.254.2 or it won't talk to to the CTX 28 even with a cross over cable!

I'm not going to bite on that GETS card business, I'm too old to get involved.

Thank You for the input. The new error is "Fail to connect to CA (IP address): Unknown trasport failure"
Any Ideas?
Thank You, Tobey

The PC can't see the CTX. Sometimes what I have to do is disable my network connection then re-enable it. Also, like Amy said make sure you are in the same subnet and network as the CTX. Have you verified the IP in the CTX (Prog. 916)?

First off, try to ping the CTX to make sure you have the right address. If it responds to the ping, cycle power and try again.

I verified the ip through my router, however I do not have the manuals yet, therefore do not know how to enter programming through the handset. Also this was originally installed by someone else. Could that person lock the CTX with a password (community name?)?
Thnak You, Tobey
