I am having problems setting up the Live Call Screening (LCS) feature on a TVS75/KX-TD816.

The TVS75 is configured for DPITS. I have assigned a lighted button on a 7230 phone for LCS (and can see the "LCS" message when I press the button).

When I try to assign the 3-digit password using feature 799, as soon as I enter the 799 code I get a "Not Valid" error message on the 7230's display. I've tried other DPT's and they do the same thing.

So, I seem to have missed something important during in the system's Voice Mail configuration. Long story short, I need help.

Step by step, how are you trying to set password?

My procedure:

(1) I pick up the handset (or press SP-Phone) and hear the intercom dial tone.

(2) I then dial 7-9-9

{As soon as 799 is fully dialed I hear a fast busy and the "Not Valid" message is displayed.}

(3) I enter a 3-digit password twice. During all key presses I still hear the fast busy and the display continues to show "Not Valid". I do not get the confirmation tone and the display does not show the password.

The 799 code is not listed in my [Program][100] flexible numbering list. Is this the issue? Is there a simple workaround?

It is completely missing. There is no mention of LCS in the flex number list.

I think you are about to tell me that my -1 system needs a firmware upgrade.

I am starting to think that even though the list says a P401AA is a -1 i think you have a -0 with dpits chips in your ksu a true -1 should not have that problem 799 issue and you are able to program a lcs button ?? your only chance is to find a later rev of -1 chips there is no possible
upgrade path other than that for the 816 ksu you have!

do you need a source for eeproms?

My KSU is S/N 5CCIA0011xx. It reports firmware version P401A60905A but the cabinet does not have the expected -1 version sticker on it. The two EPROM's are marked 816-1 90596, so they seem to be -1 vintage (or so I assume).

The KSU's motherboard has socketed EPROM and RAM.
I have the tools and experience to erase and burn new EPROM chips; Are the chip's hex or binary files available for free & easy download anywhere? If not, what's the cost to buy a -1 set that has the LCS feature?

If I have to purchase the chips, can my old hardware support a more recent firmware version so that I can have more advanced system features and fixes?

Or if I hold out for awhile and wait for another KX-TD816, is a version -4 a good/stable choice if the price is right?

nope sorry i've never heard of files being any where for burning.
a dash zero can only be upgraded to dash one period
it looks as though you have chips called dpits
?????
easy way to check if there is any -1 remnants is are 8 voicemail ports availible in programing and 24 hour clock EFA on center button of a 7230/35? ???
a dash four would be nice some cool tapi apps can run on it ....
