TDA100 version 3 w/ TVA50, Auto Attendant Answer

2 problems,

1-When a caller transfers out of A.A. and an extension user picks up the call, there is a 1-2 second lag time until the caller can hear the extension user's voice, sometimes the extension user will pick up a ringing call and hear ringing in the handset before they are connected with the caller.

2-I put the menu files on the TVA, these files are for the visual prompts instead of audio. Sometimes when they hit their VM button it shows up as visual prompts, sometimes audio.

I upgraded them to a version 2 on the TVA to hopefully fix these issues.

Anybody have these same problems and/or know of a fix?

don't know about the second thing but the first thing is to get the tva aa to do a blind transfer
I personally do all from custom dialing menu have never bothered or used the aa function of either the tvs or a .if only to evoke it when dialing in ....

1. county wide is right on the 1st one - In the voicemail you need to change; Extension Transfer to 'FXD' (flash-extension-disconnect)in pbx parameters, essentially a 'Blind Transfer'.

2. Did you initialize the voicemail at the beginning? Are all extensions experiencing the same thing? I did have the same problem quite a while back. I think the resolution was to install the latest version (but you say you have it in already). But I do know sometimes if you don't initialize it from the beginning, quirky things can occur.

I am using the custom service menu, I'm just calling it A.A. If it happens again I will mess with FX paramters, thanks.

I didn't init the TVA, I never do, I definately should start doing that. Hopefully the upgrade solved everything...

not to be rude, and no disrespect to county wide and Andromeda, but i disagree...

you shouldn't have to do a blind transfer ("FXD") to fix your problem. the default transfer setting of ("FX") should work without any delays when the call is answered.

94astro, you've been a tda dealer for a while and i'm sure you have other tda/tva installs working with screened transfers ("FX") and no delay problems. I do.

one of my tda100/tva50 customers called me a while back with the same delay problem that you described. luckily all i had to do was reset (not default) both systems and the delay disappered.

as a test, maybe try backing-up your systems and defaulting. reprogram by hand just the basics, enough to test and see if you still get the delay.

Bud, I agree, I can't remember the last time I used the blind transfer. The TVA won't pull the call back if needed.
I do usually add the "A" to get rid of the "you have a call".
I have had the delay problems but the TVA upgrade always worked.
As for initializing, that should always be done on all systems.

We have several A.A. answer TDA'S out there and they transfer just fine with leaving the transfer parameters default. I have done soft resets on the TDA and TVA a couple of months ago.

If they call back then I'll consider defaulting the systems, is it possible to backup TVA custom service and mailbox greetings and restore them? I've never done that.

For some reason I never initialize TVA's, but I will from now on.

Thanks fellas...

I don't do enough of the tva's as I should I actually shuned them untill there cutoff patch came out. the guy I sub Lately for I set the tda's up and hang the frame and sort out the actual hardware so I don't hear or care about the shortcomings of the tva plus on my behalf when I went through the tda school the tva 50 and the tda 50 for that matter didn't even exist the class was only 3 days then never saw the ip stuff even work these were pre 1.0's so you guys know more about the tva than I do.....not to sell my self short I can read the book and I have them out there( It's what we called armchair trouble shooting and me being an Air Force Vet should know better and some times I can be 100 percent off base)

county wide, like i said, i meant no disrespect by disagreeing with you.

this is a discussion group and there will be disagreements sometimes.not everyone does things the same way. we all know that there is no ONE correct way of progrmming systems.everyone of us has different experience. sometimes you know something i don't know and sometimes i will know something you don't know. together we help eachother as well as others.

when one of us sees "A" and someone else sees "B", it doesn't mean that one of us is wrong and the other one is right.

whats important is that by posting our questions/answers/opinions we are helping each other. isn't that what this forum is all about?

**admins...how about getting rid of these "member ratings"?? they serve no purpose.
