Client is a busy doctor's office. System is MICS w/T1 PRI.
I have programmed a "back line" on one of the nurses phones. Doctor's use this line to call-in without having to go through the switchboard. The nurse has voicemail on her phone. The doc's want the phone to ring, ring, ring and not be answered by voicemail.
I think I already know the answer to my question (NO!), but wondering if anyone has an "outside the box" solution...

Put in an ATA2 and a single line phone cordless phone base so the nurse can carry around a small clip-on cordless phone. If you already have a 0x8 s/l module, all you need is a cheap DECT phone (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telephone.
Or just put in a cheap, cheap, cheap 7100 phone with no voicemail box.

The Bunnie's right. If the nurses' phone has VM, it'll answer that line as well....

you set up a hunt group for the line and have it overflow to itself. It will never go to voice mail.

Which is why I suggested a cordless phone. They have small DECT phones that can clip onto to a uniform or stick in a pocket and the phone is with them all the time.
It rings, they can't ignore hearing it, then if they still don't answer there are many more nurses looking for a job.
We put one in for the main vet at a pet hospital. He broke his leg jogging and was going from room to room in a wheel chair examining pets in rooms without phones.
A cell sized DECT phone fit in his shirt pocket and any call could be transferred to him, no wheeling around to take care of clients calling in.

It turns out there were six phones at the nurses station with the number assigned, but only one with a voicemail box. I removed the line from the VM phone, gave her a "pick-up" button and problem solved.

"The nurse has voicemail on her phone."
THE is a singular word meaning one, not a plural word meaning two or more.
NOW you tell us there are six nurses. I lost my mind reading capacity just two days before this thread started so of course I had the wrong suggestion, sorry.
