You can type your customer's phone numbers into this site and see if they have words that are easy to remember for dialing.

That drives me nuts trying to dial a number by letters..takes me forever to get it dialed...If you have a customer who wants to use letters try and talk them into adding the number next to it.

my hardware store used to be 932-HDWR (getting out my phone, hold on...4397) but moved, so now it's 291-1111...much easier to remember!

I love when it's "1-800-GET NEW WINDOWS TODAY" or "1-800-YOUR JOB IS YOUR NEW CAR". I intentionally keep dialing the extra digits to let them know when they answer. I have an evil streak in me, but hey, older people might not understand the North American Dialing Plan and just keep dialing away. I am just doing what people who aren't in our business might do.

If it's a clean seven-digit spelling, like "GET-CASH", or "DOM-INOS", then it's fine by me. When they stretch the dwindling pool of numbers into stuff that's just plain silly, then I have an issue.
