I have two 8X24's at two of my offices. I have an expanded Vodavi 1224 at the third. I just purchased a third 8X24 to replace the Vodavi and I want to set the extensions to match the Vodavi, so that people do not have to change voice mail numbers. The Vodavi and Dispatch are set to 100 through 127, but the default 3 digit DN for the Norstar is 221 to 244. My question, is there a way to set the Norstar to begin at 101 (100 is the front desk on the Vodavi so not assigned)? 103 is the first extension that I have assigned on the Vodavi. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Charles

Nope....Sorry. The Norstars don't allow for changing the starting DN as other systems do.

Actually you can do this on the initial setup depending on the software level. With 8x24, I think you need DR4 or DR5 software. When you power the system on, you have 15 minutes to enter into the startup programming. dial Feature ** xxxxxxx, followed by the password. It will then prompt you for the system parameters, including your starting DN.

Will you be using the Dispatch VM or replacing it as well? The reason I ask is, if you use a Flash VM, you will run into trouble starting the DN's at 100. The Flash VM's use mbx 100 for general delivery, and mbx 102 for system admin. Those two mailboxes would not be availbe for use by subscribers.

good point johnnyreb but on the first point, can't you go into administration programming and change DNs to new numbers?
I may be thinking of MICS
