My wife owns and operates a 24/7 answering service. She has been using Mitel equipment since she started.
She currently is running a Mitel Sx200 Digital system with Superset 430's.
She has T1 lines and has DID cards/lines so she know which client is calling in.
She would like to be able to answer the phones from a remote location, that is about 6 miles from the office.
She would like to have the phones ring at both locations simultaneously.
She has purchased a new mitel system Sx2000 lite. And also Mitel 4025 digital phones. The new system has liteware 30 software I think.
She has had XO run T1 line to the remote location, but it is not a direct line between the two locations. Purchased a couple of Mitel ISDN modems (xpress connect)to help with the connection.
We have hired a couple of phone techs that said it should work or could work, but neither one of them can understand why it won't.
Is this possible? Can she do it?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Steve

Sounds very tricky. Ring both systems at the same time? I'm not sure about that. Are you are dealing w/ a Mitel Elite Dealer. I just mention that because the techs need to be up to speed on all Mitel equipment. I work on a ton of Mitels but would have probably would not have taken this on.

Your not going to be able to ring both locations with T-1 DID service on a lightware system. The only other solution would be to upgrade to 3100 system. VOIP is the the best solution

I am a bit unclear here. Are you replacing the 200 with a 2k and Express Office? And when you said that the XO circ doesn't go directly between the sites, then where is it going?

In theroy, Express Office should work. But it will be quite cumbersom. The 4025 would appear as an extension off the remote PBX.

If you're trying to connect the 4025 off of the 2k and have it ring the same time as a set on the 200 - ain't gonna happen.

It's too bad that your vendor sold you a new 2k rather than a 3100 or even better a 3300. This would then be really simple. That's the beauty of VOIP.

One of the ways to do this is:

Look at it after the PBX, not before it.

Have an analog port off the pbx ring at the same time as the digital phone. Have an OPX ckt going to the remote location and from the same analog port. That way, when the digital phone rings and the analog port rings, the OPX is slaved to ring. If it gets picked up at the end of the OPX (remote location) It will light the button on the digital set also.

For each remote location, you would need an OPX ckt, an additional cost but it will work.

sometimes it takes a simple approach to take on a simple problem.
