I have one IP phone on a new 2100. Eventually it will be a remote phone, but for now I'm trying to get it to connect local. I've done this before on another system (9100), so don't know why this one is being a pain. Digital phones on this system are fine.

I put the address that was in 10-12-01 into 10-12-09.
I entered a different address in 84-26-01 (just one number off from 10-12-01).
In the IP phone, I entered the address from 10-12-09.

I thought I tried all combinations of this while trying to make it work, too. The phone still says "dhcp connecting".

Thanks for any suggestions.
Jim

set 10-12-01 to 0.0.0.0
10-12-09 and 84-26-01 couple numbers off (to avoid conflict with other devices on the network)
10-63-01 checked

Are you connected to voipdb port?

The IP phone is not getting an IP address from your server (DHCP). You can try putting in a static address.

Had all that set, Usbuild. Also tried a static in the phone, Helpifican. No results to any of it.

The 2100 doesn't have an IP daughter board, since it comes out of the box ready for 8 IP phones. So I'm just using the only ethernet port on the cpu.

I think without voip board 10-12-09 and 84-26-01 shouldn’t be changed and you point ip phone to 10-12-01

I would go back to default settings on 10-12 page.
Reset system
Factory default IP phone, set SIP server to 10-12-01, leave everything else at defaults

Ya, separate it from their network and try it static on your own equipment (I have my own poe switch I carry around because of this). Sounds to me like it's a connectivity issue.

To verify connectivity press “help” for couple seconds, navigate to menu 3. Ping 8.8.8.8

To use the built in VoIP, first set 10-12-01 to 0.0.0.0, then place your IP address for the VoIP into 10-12-09, also set 10-12-03 + 10-12-10. Put a second IP address into 84-26. Connect to the VoIP address. Use the ping command in the phone to try to reach the internet as well as the VoIP address. No system reset is required, just disconnect from the system then reconnect.

Helpifician, according to sl2100 programming manual (page 2-18)
“If any IP Address or NIC settings are changed, the system must be reset for the changes to take affect”
