There are several tone options selected by internal or external call. It's in the user guide.

Hello,

Thank you for your input however I never was able to resolve this issue? The question came up again today...

My original message seemed to have gotten lost in the vernacular? The two most common occurrences that my users encounter are:

In an open office area, where there are a cluster of desk and the phone rings - it is difficult to distinguish which phone is ringing? Those calls typically arrive as:

Another co-worker dialing ones extension - the call arrives a "beep"

An outside caller dialing directly into an extension - this arrives as a ringing sound

My question is - can I customize these sounds in order for users to be able to distinguish a call arriving for their attention?

Enter user programing mode my entering #9876

Press the intercom key.
The 1st option is to change the internal ringing. If you press hold you can modify the ringing for external calls.

Your options are 01 or 02 (typically for internal call cadences) or 11 through 18.

Press the same intercom key to save.

If the phone having line keys that ring for an incoming call, then you would want to change the ringing of the line keys instead of the intercom key.

David,

Sorry but it did not appear to make any changes.

I tried both options - 01 & 02.

I even attempted to modify the external rings and was not successful. Is there some type of system setting that would be keeping me from making changes at an individual extension?

There is not an option to disable user programming mode, that I am aware. When you press the intercom key a second time you got the message "Data Programmed" on the screen?

When testing, you called form another extension, and made sure it was ringing (not a voice announcement splash tone)? If you can between extensions and it defaults to voice announce/hands free, press 1 to make the phone ring.
