I have a IPKII where the customer recently upgraded to a gigabit switch on their network and now we are unable to get access to the phone system on the LAN. If I do a constant ping, maybe 1 out of 20 will get a response back. If i plug into the CPU with a crossover I can get into the system without issue. If I plug the system into a small 5 port switch with just my notebook attached, it works just fine. I don't believe this is an IP conflict on the network, but I am running out of ideas.

Could def. be a IP conflict. What about a the port that the phone system is plugged into on the new switch? Did you try a different port?

I would try locking the switch port down to 100MB/Full duplex,( at both ends ) maybe the switch port tries to negotiate a higher speed every so often & kills the link status in the process. Did you try IPKII -> 5 port switch -> GB Switch , some times a cheapo switch can buffer the negotiating ( no expert on switching protocols but I'm sue different vendors using different neg. techniques )

What Joel says is a good idea.

I've had to do that in the past with a VM card, same brand switch but it wouldn't get link on the 24port, but would work fine on the 5 port, so i just uplinked the 5 port to the 24 port and left the vm plugged into that.

Do you see a constant link light on the switch you have the system connected to?
