It will work on 10 VAC, just like the more recent round ones with the blue leads.
The screw with the spring is the volume adjustment.
They never were equipped with 105-volt buzzers. Huh? SE-8A B and X were 10/18/105 VAC buzzers. I think I have a couple of each lying around. Carl

Of course, almost all of my 1A2 knowledge can be found in 1 thread on this site. That, and the manual I've practically memorized.

The ring generator mounts on the power supply of a 601. IIRC it fit over the heat sink and there is a white molex type connector to the right of the transformer. I have the power supply but not the ring generator that I can find.

Carl Yep, big old thing, reminds me of a flyback transformer from a TV set. I've a spare one of those.

No, it's much darker as in charcoal color to contrast with a black set.

The thing with a Molex connector is a Big Ol' Capacitor. Took 2 cycles of 60 htz to charge it up, then it discharged. Gloriosky Zero, 30 Htz ringing. Ran the bells and hi-voltage buzzers in 1A2 phones just fine. That's what all the 1A2 power supplies put out. There is/was a 20 Htz ring generator available from the same people that made the 8100 24/48 DC power supply. They made a 20 Htz and a 30 Htz ring generator in the same size/shape case. And, where did the expression "Gloriosky Zero" come from? 1st right answer gets............. a free Mitel 9110-110-000 station card, but you gotta pay the shipping. I'll ship 2 in case there are any bad ports. Heck of a deal. Whatdaya mean, sneaky way to get rid of my trash! John C. (Not Garand)

I cheated and searched this forum:
Use a cheap alarm clock that starts blinking with a power loss, to confirm power loss. Plug into the same outlet, set the time and when the NT has the wrong time, if the alarm clock is blinking, which it should be, Gloriosky, Zero!
Still don't know what it means though.
Also don't know what a Mitel 9110-110-000 is, so my entry doesn't count.
Now that I think about it, I should have just kept my mouth shut.
Too late, I already hit send. Sorry!
