Thinking of buying for my new office. Will the voicemail system allow for message/bulletin boards so that there is no beep after the message? Thanks for your help!

the announcement messages can be set to repeat ( I usually repeat 3X ) then dump the caller or return them to the main menu .

you can also run the announcement messages to a sub menu . freeing up selections on the main menu

I have a customer with 5 furniture stores so "for store info press 7 "

7 goes to a sub menu

for store one press one , for store two press two , for store three..etc

you get the idea

each going to a announcement MB with specifics of that particular store

yes I do. That's how we currnetly use our Legendmail (Avaya). Press "1" for sales info, then 1 for Mon, 2 for Tues, 3 for Weds, etc. The DSX looks like it will met our needs; just concerned about the quality after having the Merlin Legend workhorse for the past 10 yrs

I would expect easy 10 years out of it if its properly installed , grounded and has decent surge suppression

In any phone system purchase the vendor is a big part of long term reliability and customer satisfaction with the equipment

is the DSX80 as reliable? Lots of features for less than Avaya & Nortel.

hard to say , its new released less than a year ago .

flash vm's in general are fairly new

we have some of the pc based , Nitusko (predecessor of this NEC line) VMs that are 10 years + old still functional

time will tell how the flash card fare long term. (from all manufacturers not just NEC)

one of the things I always liked about Tie/ Nitusko and now NEC is the product does offer a lot more in features built in than the competition

always uncomfortable w/something new ... especially when what I have is still working. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to pay to move the old system (Merlin Legend) ... w/the warranty, etc it seems that the new DSX is the way to go. Thanks for your quick response.

Little off the topic, but felt it was not worth a post of it's own. Does the DSX voice mail support centrex tranfer.

Thanks
Walter
