My facility uses a 300H switch and Optiset E phones and the LC Win 4.0 045 management software. I had a user today ask me if it's possible to have phonemail notification buttons for each line that is on her phone. If so, how do I manage it?

Mike,

How are you interfacing phone mail? Hyperterminal?

Im thinking it can be done in phonemail programming to notify a primary extension of phonemail if any of the ones she has in her line pool.

To configure single access number (SAN) direct PhoneMail access when multiple nodes are used:

Configure a PhoneMail hunt group consisting of all PhoneMail interface B-channel extensions for all PhoneMail nodes

Configure a phantom extension for SAN direct access. Users can call this station to access their mailbox, regardless of the node where their mailbox resides.

Does that help?

When you say "each line" what exactly are you refering to? Do you mean that she has Repdial (DSS, IE Extension) buttons? So, she wants to see when other people have messages?

Ok. I use LC-Win to get to the PBX to set up the keys on the phone itself. I use hyperterminal to get to the phonemail server. I actually have been teaching myself this as I go, so I'm unfortunately very lost with acronyms in the phone world. Please bear with me.

When I say each line, the user herself has one regular phone line and a "rollover" phantom line. The lines she's picking up are the ones that are "publicly" listed numbers for her bosses but are actual phantom lines that she answers for them.

Mike,

I have read every help file and EMML and programming book I have. I dont see where that is an option. THe only thing I can think of is have them call forward those phones to a phantom and set up Phonemail for that with a general message. THe phonemail box will have to be checked and set up with a password .

Sorry , cant think of anything else right off.

Good luck,

Mike,
If I understand your questionn correctly, you want to add the users additional extensions in the Phonemail mailbox profile. This allows you to send multiple ext's to the same mailbox.
