I put a TCIU2 board on the DK40 prior to reinitializing and installing. The system sees slot 14 as an 81 (TCIU2) and I've done *50, *51 and *52 correctly.
The system is waiting for the second ring cycle before it rings so the cpu knows the card is there and working.
Customer insists AT&T is giving him CID. I have to go back anyway and can take a CID box but I'm trying to make sure there is nothing I missed in programming.
Thanks, Bunnie

Doesn't sound like you're missing anything. I have had issues with some providers CID not coming through on a DK40, if T + R are reversed. Try swapping T/R on one line and make sure the mod-ends are correct on a per line basis, to see if that is the easy fix... but either way, make sure you have the CID box with you.

In addition, you should be able to hear the caller id modem burst if you put your buttset on the line, put it into monitor, and dial the line you have it on.

Thanks, I never knew about the t&r reversal, will try that. I never heard of listening for the cid burst but will give that a shot too. Thanks, Bunnie

Make sure you cycle the power or run program 91-2, after programing *50.

Thank you Steve, I missed that. Getting old, just old and dingy. And, the blond is turning all gray. Almost nothing is as bad as being an old gray blond.

I missed the notice on my manual about powering down/up and as soon as I did that the CID started working.
Thank you all, it is miserable being stumped.

I have a Strata DK40 system. What do I need to get caller ID?

A TCIU or RCIU , order caller ID from your dial tone provider ,display phones, and someone who knows the DK 40 to do all the programing, I would suggest you call a Toshiba dealer in your area.

If you have only the base cabinet, you need to buy the TCIU as it fits on top of the TCOU dial tone board on the DK40i. You get four ports of Caller ID and these are assigned in programming to Lines one, two, three and four.
If you have an expansion cabinet, you can use one slot for an RCIU card. This also gives you four ports of caller ID but they could be assigned to any line you have, for instance line one, line two, line five and line six if you had two separate companies and wanted Caller ID on the first two lines for each company.
Also you can attach a RCIS daughterboard to the RCIU and have eight assignable ports of Caller ID. For instance lines one through four and nine through twelve.
If you had your DK40i equipped for twelve lines and wanted Caller ID on all of them, you would buy a TCIU for the base cabinet and a RCIU with a RSIS daughterboard for the expansion cabinet.
